Like Early Frost...8. COLLONIAL SHOP (some day)
A bell on the shop door, some kid approaches the counter and puts a coin before Verebeš, who was busy pouring wine and checking its colour against the light... Against the light... VEREBEŠ: All the money you've got! Fuck! Are you getting married? Let me see... Mixed candies... For all the money you've got... Hope we'll have that much?! That's... Two candies... Here... Mix them yourself, if it' s not too much for you... The kid picked the candies and there is an inner battle in the old shop assistant... An elegant young woman, who is browsing through the records for the gramophone, observes all this with discrete fondness. She is around 30 but she is dressed up too smartly for her real personality, as if she was dressed up as her older sister? She was obviously from a nice family which doesn't necessarily mean that she was good as well? Her upsetting look couldn't reach Andrija, but there is no doubt that it is aimed at him. He is writing some prices on some blackboard near the door with a piece of chalk, pretending he is not interested in what's going on at the front...
